105 Year Old Savta Mazal

This was my gorgeous 105+ years young Savta Mazal, originally from Yemen. She passed away yesterday in Israel. Between 1948 and 1978, over 850,000 Jewish refugees from Arab countries escaped to Israel after facing discrimination, violence, land confiscation, and many other forms of persecution. Savta Mazal escaped to Israel in 1949 and, despite many challenges, restarted her life.

In 1967, her 20 year old son, Shaul Yemini, was a commander paratrooper in the IDF during the Six-Day War and was killed in battle. Despite this profound loss, she lived with strength and built a home of love and Torah. Savta Mazal leaves behind a legacy of over 550 direct living descendants and counting. May her memory be a blessing.
