Meet Holocaust survivor and master tailor Martin Greenfield. Born in Pavlovo, Czechoslovakia in 1928, Martin was taken from his home at age 15. His family was sent to Auschwitz where his parents and siblings were all murdered. Martin was later transferred to Buchenwald where he was liberated by the U.S. Army in April 1945. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1947 and worked his way up to becoming a world-famous clothier. Martin’s list of clients includes multiple U.S. presidents, movie stars, and famous athletes. For over 70 years, he has specialized in men’s suits. But today, his Brooklyn-based company has shifted gears, focusing on making reusable masks and medical gowns for frontline healthcare workers during the #coronavirus pandemic.
