Leon is a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor who recently fulfilled his lifelong dream of moving to Israel. Leon was born in Belgium in 1928, at just 12 years old he fled the Nazis and eventually reached Cuba with his parents in 1941. He moved to the United States in 1947 and assisted the Haganah during Israel’s War of Independence.
Upon his arrival in Israel last week, Leon had an emotional reunion with his grandchildren, including his grandson, who is a pilot in the Israeli Air Force. He had always wanted to live in Israel and decided that now is the right time to make Aliyah (move to Israel), despite his advanced age. Leon joins his family living in the Holy Land, including his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Welcome home, Leon!
