Interesting Facts About Albert Einstein

Here are some fun facts about Albert Einstein. Did you know that in 1999, Einstein was named Time magazine’s “Person of the Century”?

He was the only person ever offered the position of President of the State of Israel following the death of its first president, Chaim Weizmann, in 1952. Einstein respectfully declined, believing he was not experienced enough to take on the role.

In 1933, the year Hitler came to power, Einstein fled Germany and settled in the US. He helped secure affidavits for displaced Jews, particularly scientists, and advocated for and raised funds to support those fleeing Nazi persecution.

He received approximately 13 honorary doctorates during his lifetime, but the last came from Israel: an honorary Doctor of Science in Technology from the Technion in 1954, just six months before his death. It would mark the final scientific achievement of Einstein’s lifetime.
