Everyone has a story, this is mine.
My father is buried in Israel. When he and my mother were organizing their wills, they had spoken about when the time comes, should they be buried in New York, which would make it easier for us children to visit or buried in Israel. My father said Israel, because it will give us kids a reason to go.
This November will be 6 years and I visit Israel more times now than I ever have before. This past Friday I had the honor of visiting my father. I posted the following note to my personal Facebook account for my family and friends. Just thought it was something I should also share with all of you, as a reminder of the drive behind this page:

‘The reason for all of this.
The reason I started Humans of Judaism.
The reason I work so hard.
The reason I go outside of my comfort zone and do anything I can in his memory.
The reason I am here in Israel today.
The reason I have tears as I write this and can’t really put into words how I am feeling.
All I can say is what is attached to every single thing that I do for this project:
Yisachar Bayrish ben Yehuda Yeshaya HaLevy, may the Neshama have an aliyah ♥️’
Thank you all for joining me on this journey,
Nikki
