Today, the Friday ahead of Rosh Hashanah, marks 50 years since the Lubavitcher Rebbe launched his Shabbat Candle Lighting Campaign in 1974. The project aimed to make candles accessible to all and has since inspired millions of Shabbat candle lightings worldwide.
