Did you know the shopping cart was created by Jewish inventor Sylvan Goldman? He was born in 1898 to Jewish immigrants in Oklahoma and changed the way we shop forever. After serving in WWI and opening grocery stores with his brother Alfred, he noticed that customers could only buy as much as they could carry. His solution was simple: combine a basket with a wheeled carriage, and so, in 1937, the shopping cart was born. Sylvan revolutionized shopping, and today, Americans use millions of shopping carts each day.
