What happens when you have an overnight flight to Israel during Chanukah? Easy, this NYC > TLV EL AL plane allowed a passenger to use electric candles as a makeshift menorah (no fire onboard). As soon as it turned dark outside, the candles came out and the singing began. The passenger consulted with a Rabbi for direction and approval of this unqiue exception, otherwise passengers would miss one night of candlelighting. Happy 4th night of Chanukah from somewhere over the Atlantic ocean.
