“My Bubbe (Yiddish for Grandma), this feisty and resilient woman who my dad sometimes affectionately calls ‘Rocky Graziano, the Boxer’ turns *105* today!!
As my Dad says, “No bookie would have bet a nickel that this 23-year-old pregnant woman picked up by the Gestapo in 1938 would live to be 24, let alone 105.” Like many survivors (G-d bless them all as well as those in heaven who did not survive), she is a strong, smart and courageous woman with great faith. Please wish her a Happy Birthday. And as we say in Judaism “Ad Me’ah V’esreem” – until 120. “Ad” = “until.” We all have an “until.” Let’s not count our days but make our days count, every one of them. Love to all.” – Deborah Jacobson
