This is Dr. Howard Tucker, he holds the Guinness World Record as the oldest practicing doctor and this past week he celebrated his 101st birthday! Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 10, 1922, Tucker attended undergraduate and received his MD at The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War, trained and taught at the Neurological Institute of Columbia in New York (where he met his wife, Sara, of 66 years who is a practicing psychiatrist and will be turning 90 this year), and then moved back to Cleveland where he has been practicing since the 1950s.
He was most recently treating patients and teaching medical residents throughout the pandemic at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, and now is doing medical legal consulting work (he received his law degree at age 67). Today, Dr. Tucker continues to practice medicine and maintains his record of practice for over 75 years. #MazalTov
