CONDOLENCES: Alber Elbaz

Beloved Israeli fashion designer passed away at the age of 59. Alber Elbaz was born in Casablanca, Morocco on June 12, 1961. At the age of ten, Elbaz and his family moved to Israel, where he later attended college and served in the IDF. In 1985 with $800 in his pocket, the young designer moved to New York City for stardom. From 1996 until 1998, Elbaz worked for the French house of Guy Laroche as head of prêt-à-porter and moved to Paris in 1997. From there he went on to become the creative director at Yves Saint Laurent and Lanvin in Paris from 2001 until 2015. Highly respected and extremely talented, Elbaz has contributed so much to fashion but was best known for his kindness and will be sorely missed. May his memory be a blessing.
