“When my father, Osher Lehmann was liberated from Bergen Belsen in 1945 at the age of 11-1/2, he was an orphan with no parents. His two sisters survived the war with him. My dad was born and raised in Amsterdam, Holland in a Torah observant home.
Today, my father is 85 and, despite everything he went through, he has led a Torah observant life in Brooklyn, New York, together with my Mother, who arrived from Basel, Switzerland in 1939, after her father saved hundreds of Europeans, by helping them enter Switzerland.
My father is holding one of his great grandchildren on the morning of the bris.
This picture speaks volumes of the steadfast faith my father held onto and never wavered from even one iota!” – Chanalee Fischer
