Oskar Schindler passed away on October 9, 1974. Pictured here, Schindler is being lifted on a chair at the 25th wedding anniversary of Murray and Louise Pantirer in 1972. Murray was one of the 1,200 Jews saved by Schindler during the Holocaust, he was recognized as Righteous Among the Nations in 1993. Today, there are more than 8,000 living descendants of the Jews saved by Oskar Schindler.
