Hannah Senesh, heroine of Israel.

Her mission: secretly parachute into Nazi Europe to rescue Hungarian Jews before the Nazis could send them to gas chambers in Auschwitz-Birkenau.

On March 14, 1944, 22-year-old Hannah Senesh and a small unit of Jewish paratroopers volunteering with British Forces parachuted into Yugoslavia where they united with local partisan resistance forces. In June 1944, Hannah fearlessly crossed the border into Nazi-occupied Hungary. Hannah was arrested, imprisoned, and tortured under inhumane conditions by the Nazis. Throughout her imprisonment, Hannah never betrayed her cause, holding on to her beliefs and loyalty to her nation. She was executed in November 1944.

May her memory be a blessing.
