Grandma Yoli’s Dress

This dress was found amongst my grandmother’s belongings after her passing. When Grandma Yoli was liberated from Dachau, she had no clothing, a friend sewed her this dress out of table clothes they found in the Nazi quarters. As a free woman, she wanted to look presentable and beautiful. Every year on the day of her liberation, Grandma Yoli would take out this dress and remember the value of being free. May we always remember the promise of ‘Never Again’.
