6 years ago tonight, my father passed away suddenly. One is never prepared for these things. However when the time came for my parents to organize their wills, they discussed their options for burial in New York or Israel. They considered that we live in New York and it would be convenient for us kids and easy to visit. My father had said no, he wanted to be buried in Israel, to give us children a reason to go. In the last 6 years I have been to Israel more often than I ever have. Here I am in Jerusalem tonight, fulfilling my father’s wishes. Humans of Judaism is something I started in his memory as a way to honor my dad every day. Today, more than ever, this passion project has deeper meaning in its service to the Jewish community and as it continues to grow it is important for me to remind you how and why this page was started. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Thank you The David Citadel Hotel for giving me the space to light this yartzeit candle while away from home on this meaningful day.

Lezecher Nishmat Yisachar Bayrish ben Yehuda Yeshaya HaLevi, may the Neshama have an aliyah.
Miss you dad
