Jackson, Mississippi’s only active synagogue was targeted in an arson attack this weekend. A fire deliberately set early Saturday caused significant damage to the synagogue library and destroyed two Torah scrolls, with several others damaged. No injuries to congregants or emergency responders were reported and a suspect is now in custody.
