Family Survival Photo

This is our family survival photo. My father, Leon Goldenberg, has always dreamed of taking us on a trip to see where our grandparents came from. Some of them were murdered here at Auschwitz. His mother survived with her three sisters. They only made it because they had each other to keep going. My other grandmother was in Auschwitz by herself. She had relatives, but otherwise, she was sadly alone.

Today, we stand in this very place. Three generations later, we honor their memory. Three generations together, as living proof of Jewish resilience. Am Yisrael Chai.
