This is a photo of Gali Elion and her father Tal. On October 7, Gali was just 15 years old when Hamas terrorists attacked her kibbutz in Kfar Aza. She jumped into action to do everything she could from the confines of the bomb shelter in her home. Despite the great risk to her own life, Gali managed to communicate with the IDF, providing as many details as possible of what was going on around her, including sharing live locations and identifying those in urgent need of saving before her own rescue.
Sadly, her father Tal did not survive that day. While defending their kibbutz, he managed to neutralize 3 terrorists before being killed. “I know he’s proud of me,” she says. “We’ll rebuild the home he fought for. And we’ll smile again.”
