Holocaust survivor Leon Sherman holds the lulav and etrog as he recites the blessings in front of his home in Queens, NY. In an effort to bring the traditions of #Sukkotto those isolated by the coronavirus, Rabbi @EliBlokh built a mobile sukkah and has been making house calls throughout the weeklong festival. The first call he made was to Leon, who was liberated from Auschwitz 75 years ago. During the war, Leon survived the ghetto, multiple concentration camps, slave labor, and a death march. He arrived in the United States in 1949 and has lived here ever since.
