This week we learn about the mitzvah of hakhel. Every seven years all the Jews would gather in Jerusalem. Men, women, and children. The men came to learn, the women came to hear, and the children? The children came to give reward to those who brought them. There was really no purpose in their being there when they were too young to understand what was going on. And yet, We are commanded to bring them. Sometimes, we may be in a certain situation just to help someone else succeed or to give them some benefit. And yes, it is worth our trouble to help someone else.
