Challah Recipe:
??CC Adapted Rebbetzin Kanievsky Recipe.

  • 3 cups warm water
  • 2 Cups Seltzer
  • 4 tablespoons dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 C honey
  • 1 1/4 cups oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons salt
  • 5 pounds King Arthur bread flour
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

ChefChaya Directions:
To Make the Dough: Place 1 cup warm water, yeast and 2 T sugar in a bowl of electric mixer. Let it sit for about 7 minutes until it becomes bubbly. Add the rest of the water and the seltzer, add oil, honey sugar and salt. Slowly add the flour, one cup at a time. Continue mixing on low, while adding flour, then mix for about 10 minutes on high.

Place dough in a large well greased bowl, allow it to Rise for one hour. Take a piece of dough and make a Bracha. Braid the dough and place in greased loaf pans. Let rise for another hour ( I let it rise three hours. Preheat oven 350. Brush with egg and bake for 45 minutes
